Once upon a time there was an ancient ruling line. Once upon a time, Japan invaded and got rid of this line, starting with their king and queen. A country was torn into two as a result, with the north being vile and the south being a modern country seen as an ally of the free world. And the Royal Family turned into something less important than who was winning the newest music award. Idols became the royal class.
Rewind.
Korea isn't a divided country but still one. The ruling family never succumbed to Japanese political attacks. The north never seceded; Korea is one united country, under the rule of the Yi Family.
But it's not so different from what you and I know. Idols are still popular, the government's run by the Prime Minister, and Korea's known as a growing fashion capital of the world. But the personal lives of the ruling family and the Royal Relatives are also under the the lens of the media.
So what are you? A Royal? A paparazzo? Or are you just an average person enjoying the show?
