``PERSONALITY
Ezra generally is very friendly, full of energy and he loves to be around people. He’s a loyal friend, a good son and does his best to please everyone. He doesn’t ever like to know he upset people, or disappointed people. He beats himself up a lot if he knows he has hurt someone or disappointed his family. His family has high expectations for him, and he hates the fact he wants to be a musician, but he just doesn’t generally doesn’t talk about his goals with his family. They usually just end up insulting his goals and he gets mad and walks away from the conversation, and he’s trying to learn to be the bigger person, even if they will never get what he wants to do.
Though, if caught at a bad time or off guard, he can be hostile; but that’s to be expected, anyone can be. He can be short with people, and he doesn’t like to be told he’s done something he hasn’t. He can also get very nervous. If he gets that way, it’s fairly easy to tell. He’ll pace, or if he’s on his horse when he gets anxious, he begins to breath rapidly and can’t keep his hands still. He’ll sometimes dismount for seemingly no reason, but in reality, his nerves got the better of him, and he just can’t take it anymore. He criticizes himself very harshly, and he can get very upset very quickly if he can’t make himself do something. He has almost more than once walked away from riding all together because of this fault.

``HISTORY
Ezra was born the only child to his slightly old fashioned parents. He was raised in the Bible Belt, and moved around for a while as a kid, and settled in Aiken, SC; the heart of horse country in South Carolina. He got through most of his childhood moving without incident, learned not to attach himself to things and got on with it. Once he was actually settled in one place, he didn’t know what to make of it. He could make friends without fear of himself having to leave again, and everything! He ever started to form interests in things, and by things, I mean horses.
His first interest in horses came from a small mare that lived in his neighbor’s yard. Her name was Lucky, and she was a crossbred pony. A welsh and something else. He didn’t really want to like her, she would just stand there and eat, which seemed boring to him, but he couldn’t help it. There was just something about her. He got to the point where he stood and watched her, and eventually she would come over to the fence, and he could pet her, and sometimes feed her. She became his first friend, and he would never forget that.
Her owners moved to sell her one day, and his asked his parents, and they were a bit shocked he wanted a pony of all things but the fact he was interested in something made them curious, so they bought her for $500 and began boarding her at a barn down the block. He rode four times a week, and he got fairly good at it.
Through middle school, high school and such he sadly out grew Lucky, and she got old. She was retired when he was a Freshmen, and she died peacefully a few years later. It was hard for him to get over, but he was glad she had a good life with him.
After Lucky’s passing, he looked into getting a horse more up to speed with his eventing goals he’d recently set for himself. He began to look into off the track thoroughbreds, he looked into several horses, but none appealed to him. He just couldn’t get one he liked under saddle, though one day he was looking into a mare at a barn his father found, and there was a cranky stallion making noise around the back of the barn, and beside that stallion was a dirty black gelding eating calmly. He asked about the horses in the back, and the owner assumed he meant the stallion, but he meant the gelding. He was a racing cast off, and he was up for a cheap price. Ezra took him out for a spin, and it was love at first rail. Ezra moved the gelding from that barn after he purchased him, and the pair soon became inseparable.
Once it came time for Ezra to look into schools, he decided he didn’t want to go to college, he just wanted to work on his music, and then he found a place in Florida that seemed a fantastic barn and he planned to start saving to move there.
As he was saving, he was riding one barn horse one day, and Hound had thrown a shoe the day before, so he had to make due, and he was approaching a cross rail, and he looked at the ground for a second, got an awkward feeling in his head, and knocked a rail over, and kept on going. He pulled himself up and moved off towards the triple to finish the course, and he got his eyes right, though they dropped again as he began to feel the horse pick up the pace. He began to sweat, and he tried to bail out from around the jump, but it was too late, he got over the first one, fell during the second one, and was dragged through the second and third rails. He woke up in the hospital a few days later.
He developed a fear of jumping after this incident, but he tries to hide it. Not very well, but he does try. He moved from his home, and he began to look for work here in the city in Florida.

``PERSONALITY Hound can be a very friendly horse. He likes to be around Ezra, and is good with ground manners. At times he can a bit pushy, but he doesn’t really get very aggressive. Over jumps, he deals with Ezra’s flightiness fairly well. He doesn’t usually spook, was very sound and can stop or start whenever Ezra needs him to. One of his favorite things to do is going from the walk to the canter, and stay at the canter for as long as he possibly can. He loves to please, is good at it and he does all he can to please Ezra.
``HISTORY Hound was born on a small farm in Kentucky, and he is said to be traceable back to War Admirable, but what horse in that state isn’t? He never could get up the speed for the track, so he was sent to another farm to be sold, was sold for a cheaper price, and he was then sold for a grand to a small schooling farm in South Carolina. As he was being made into a school horse, he was bought by a young man named Ezra, and his life started to look up.
``OTHER Nope!
'cause no one could have seen this coming
Ezra had been flighty since his fall. He doesn’t like to be forced to do things. He can get over jumps, but in his mind he might be a little less then confident getting over it. He chewed the back of his mouth as he grabbed his saddle from the barn. He could tell his anxiety was already starting to rise, when it was apparent he was already nervous, he could tell it was going to be a good day, of course he meant that sarcastically. He growled at himself and he pulled his saddle pad out of his stuff, and he began to search for his girth.
When he was able to get all of his stuff together in the barn, and he grabbed his helmet, whip and other things, he moved towards the ring. He rubbed his eyes and he tried to get his mind in the right place. He didn’t want to get himself upset before even getting on. He just needed to stop, he really did, but he couldn’t, and wouldn’t do that to Hound. As he got towards the ring, he pulled himself up to the mounting block, and fixed the saddle as he got on. He moved around in the saddle until he was comfortable, and he kicked Hound into a slow walk.
As he rounded the ring a few times, he slowly adjusted again, and he pulled himself into a slow posting trot. He was on auto pilot during his warm up. He lost count of how many times he rounded the ring, but he could tell this wasn’t going to go well. He moved back to the walk to let his horse stretch a bit, and he then pulled Hound’s head towards the inside, asked with his heels and got his horse to go back on his haunches and picked up the canter. He had the wrong lead, but he allowed the counter canter to continue for a while, but he eventually asked for him to stop and try it again.
As he approached a jump, he slowed to a walk, and he circled at a controlled trot, and he came towards a low crossrail. As his horse came out of the circle, he tried to line him up with the rail, and he could feel his heart starting to slam. He closed his eyes as he got close, opened them as he was at the rail, and he reached into his horse’s mane, and grabbed some of his hair. Hound left the ground a stride or two early, and he got over the rail. Ezra fell sloppily on his neck, up on his toes as he came off it, but he got over it without falling off. He patted his horse, pulled himself back into the saddle, and he sighed shakily. ”Dammit.” He cursed at himself, but he was at least glad he got over it.
