``PERSONALITY
Although she is only sixteen, Cassidy is very mature for her age. She is very polite and doesn't mind talking to adults rather than people her own age. She is reserved and doesn't like to get into other peoples' drama. If someone asked her opinion on something will she gladly tell you like it is, Cassidy likes to speak her mind. She isn't really shy, but she is not a social butterfly either. If a newcomer walked into the barn she wouldn't go and start up a conversation with them, she would let the newcomer approach her. Cassidy is extremely down to earth and loves all animals dearly. She loves bonding with all of the horses, talking to them and making sure that they're alright. She is also very caring. If someone is hurt, either mentally or physically, Cassidy will always try to comfort someone in need. Even if she doesn't have a lot of respect for them. She loves her family very much and hates to see them fight, so she tries to help her younger brothers know that they still are a family even if their parents are argueing a lot.
Although, Cassidy is very stubborn and it's hard to change her mind if it is set on something. Even with goals that she wants to accomplish in mind, she rarely ever backs down unless something severly bad happens. Since she doesn't mind telling people how it is, Cassidy can be viewed as very opininated or a jerk. She doesn't do it to hurt peoples' feelings, but some may think she does. If Cassidy ever gets mad at you, you will surely know. She tends to ignore whoever made her angry. She thinks that if you eliminate the problem in your life then life will get better. She is very organized which can be really annoying. If she sees anything set down in a random spot Cassidy will put it where it belongs. Also, she is a neat freak which can come in handy for horse grooming and stall cleaning.[/blockquote]
time and time again you wait for me to come in
``HISTORY
Amelia and Christopher loved eachother very much when they were dating and when they were married. They though their love was so deep when they first met, that they only dated for a couple months before they got married. They rarely ever got into fights as newly weds, except for the time when Amelia was pregnant and they couldn't decide on how to do the baby's room. Then once Cassidy was born, the two were great parents for the child. She was never spoiled, even when she cried histarically when wanting a toy. Around the terrible two stage, Cassidy became quite a trouble maker. Amelia or Chris would turn their back for just two seconds and their clean house was turned upside down. When Cassidy was four years old, her mother gave birth to another child, Anthony. Completely estatic about the new baby, Cassidy always helped her mother with him.
When Cassidy was six, that's when the horse-fever started. Every little girl once in their life wants to ride horses. Cassidy's 'fever' hit her hard and she would sometimes cry everyday about wanting to ride. Caving in, Amelia and Chris signed their daughter up for lessons. Eventually Cassidy's mother had another child, Marcus, and the riding lessons were soon slowed down due to baby duties. Cassidy was okay with the arrangments with the promise of lessons reoccuring once the baby was older. Her love for riding never faltered as Cassidy grew older, it only got stronger. Soon she was competeing as a young rider on school horses. When she was fourteen, that's when her parents started argueing. It started out as short spats, but then they grew into two hour long scream matches. The first of their episodes, Cassidy took her brothers and ran away from home with them. A few hours later both of their parents found them. Appearently leaving a trail of licorice so they wouldn't get lost wasn't such a great idea...
Now, the fighting is still going on between their parents. Cassidy escapes anytime she can to be free of the screaming. She drops her brothers off at their friends' house and she'll head off to the barn. Since she was there sometimes early in the mornings, Cassidy started working at Coventry; cleaning stalls, feeding, etc. And since she doesn't have enough money to support a horse on her own, she leases one of the school horses.[/blockquote]
'cause no one could have seen this coming
Five A.M sure did come fast on a show day. The sky was a dark grey as the sun made it's slow arrival into the sky. Birds were already chirping very loudly, actually they were quite annoying. Olivia was still very tired as she sleepily got out of bed. She brushed her teeth and hair thoroughly and changed into some sweats and t-shirt. She would change at the show grounds. All of her show clothes were already in the horse trailer since they packed it the night before. Grabbing her phone and ipod, Olivia hopped in the car with her step-mom and they drove off to the barn.
The barn was at an early start even for today. The horses were already out, stalls were pretty much moving quickley to becoming clean. Olivia stepped out of their car and started walking towards the tack room. Grabbing her grooming kit and polo wraps, she walked on over to Dominoe's stall. The black thoroughbred was quietly munching hay on one side of his stall. Hearing his door slide open, he looked up with sleepy eyes and nickered deeply. "Hey buddy, I know I'm tired too," Olivia said as she stroked her horse lovingly. "I'll brush you while you eat, we need to leave soon." Olivia brushed and cleaned out Dominoe's hooves as he ate. They both began to wake up in the process so that by the time that they were loading horses up, the pair were wide awake.
As soon as the trailer pulled into the show grounds, everything was rushed forward in fast motion. They unloaded and tacked up horses. Olivia put on her show pants with her show shirt, but with a hoody over so nothing would dirty it. All of the riders walked their course before mounting up to warm up their trusty steeds. The competetors here looked all very flashy with their horses braided and silky. Olivia halted Dominoe from walked and she leaned down to whisper to him, "Alright Bid D, today's the day. Our first show to see if we qualify for Nationals. We've worked hard and I know that you won't let me down. But no matter what, you will always be my best friend and I love you." She kissed his neck and gave him a hug. Dominoe flicked his ears back to listen to her as well as crane his neck around to look at her. Smiling, Olivia sat up and waited.
"Entering the ring now is number 314, Olivia Walsh on Jimmony Cricket," the announer said into the microphone. The crowd clapped softly as Olivia and Dominoe trotted into the ring, did a circle to pick up the canter, before they began. The first few fences were just big in size and distracting with flags and baskets hanging from them. Dominoe didn't even bat an eye. There were about eight jumps over all, and the two already cleared five. On the sixth one, an oxer, Olivia asked Dominoe to quicken his pace knowing he would have to jump wider. Unfortunatley, There was tiny click sound as they landed. The crowd was silent. Not really caring about the past jump, Olivia focused on what was ahead. The crowd clapped once her course was finished. Smiling, she patted Dominoe and exited the ring. Looking over at the course All of the jumps were still standing!
After the rest of the entries went through, the results where in. "Fifth place goes to number 539 Nancey Gunner on Believe it or Not. Fourth place goes to number 103 Suzie Lane on Mr. Handy Dandy. Third place goes to number 759 Kylie Moore on Zues Almighty. Second goes to number 314 Olivia Walsh on Jimmony Cricket. First goes to number 876 Tracy Jean on Spicy Hot Tamalli. Congratulations!" Stunned that they really got second, Olivia fell forward and wrapped her arms around Dominoe who gave a loud whinny as if he was shouting for joy.
